Christmas Card

Ack so I suppose I gave up on the 30 days of me... oh well :)
So I normally take a picture of my pups for my Holiday Cards - I took pictures this year but just haven't been feeling the whole holiday spirit. What that boils down to is the fact that I did not use any of the pictures for my holiday cards. They were super cute though, wearing the doggy pjs that their grammie bought them!! I have to share the pictures so everyone gets the chance to see them!


How cute are they with their little bums showing!! They are super furry here and in need of a hair cute so their fur is poking out over the edges! They have had gotten hair cuts since these pictures and the pjs fit better now, not so much fluff poking over the collars :)

Okay i put these two days together because I have nothing for you!! I love to read, but really it is just fiction books :) I can't remember the last non-fiction book that I read and i don't think i have ever read a fanfic. Oh well... sorry for the long delay between posts. I have been all out of sorts since moving & just haven't been on the computer much at all.

Day Thirteen - A fiction book

I love books!!! I really love fiction books!!! So to have to only pick one book today is tough... hmm....

Well here is what I will post... one of the new books I have sitting by my bed to start reading (haven't yet though) is the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I have no clue if i will like it or not, but I am going to give it a whirl!!

Day Twelve - Whatever Tickles My Fancy

So today is another day to post about whatever I want... So the most exciting thing right now (for me) is that I will be starting a new job in one week from today!!

I am so excited to be moving onward and starting something new. The agency that I will be working with sounds like a fantastic place and I can't wait to become a part of that agency :) The new job is in Ohio so I will staying with my parents until I can sell my house.

My last day at my current job is this coming Thursday!! So i get a three day weekend to pack up the basics and head out to OH.

Day Nine - A photo I took

Wow this is a super easy day.... I just scrolled through my pictures to find the one that first came to mind.
I went to Italy in November 2007 and LOVED it there. I took a ton of pictures and this one has to be one of my favorites. It is from Venice - which was my favorite place that I went in Italy. I have this picture framed in my bedroom in black and white.
It is a picture of the bridge of sighs... prisoners back in the day would have to walk through it to get to the jail. During a part of our tour we got to walk through as well (creepy) and once I was outside again I took a handful of pictures to remember it by.

Day Eight - A photo that makes me sad/angry

Hi :) A photo that makes me sad is an easy one to come up with. My dad passed away a couple of weeks before I turned 7 and I only have a handful of memories from before my mom married my stepdad (I was 9 then). So that makes me sad that I really can't remember my dad.

Day Seven - A photo that makes me happy :)

So today calls for a photo that makes me happy.... I don't have older photos stored on my laptop so I was going through what was on here and found this one!

It makes me happy for a couple of reasons:
1 - it is me with my best friend from high school. I love the fact that she and I are still friends!!
2 - it was taken at the wedding of another friend from high school - so that was a happy day!

Ha, funny topic for the day. Oh... and btw (since i haven't posted in 5 days) i have decided that the 30 days of me does not have to be consecutive days!!!

So moving on... day six.

Well when I was thinking about what to post today one thought came to mind.

Today is my lil sister's birthday.....so today my post will be devoted to wishing her the bestest birthday ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day Five - My favorite quote

Okay well I am not into quotes.... sure I like them, but I never keep track of them enough to have "favorites".

Day Four - My favorite book

Okay well this is a really hard one for me.... in fact I don't think I can answer this question. I love books and reread them again and again, but one favorite book... nope just can't do it. I am okay with books that make me cry, as long as there is a happy ending to the book. I can't do a book that ends badly - just makes me mad. I read books to escape so I expect to have some sort of happy ending with the characters, even if the getting there is emotional.

So, I am going to just have to go with my favorite author instead of one book. First let me say that I have an obsession of sorts when I buy books. I am not sure when it started, but I have to own all of the books by an author once I start to collect them. So I had to limit myself to certain authors because it can become very expensive. And Then... I bought a Kindle. I love my Kindle. I still by actual books by my favorite author, but the electronic aspect of it lets me buy books from multiple authors without feeling the need to buy all the books written by each author. LOVE IT!

Okay, so back on topic (sort of) my favorite author is Nora Robers (as well as her writing as JD Robb). I have noticed with her books that she weaves in characters from one story into other stories - even when they aren't connected (like a trilogy). She can have a character in one book who sings, and then later in another book a different character is listening to that one singing a song while they are driving in the car. I love that!

Day Three - My favorite TV show

Favorite TV Show - that is easy for me!!! well.... except I have a tie between two shows.

The first is Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It really is so much more then a girl fighting demons and vampires & hey it was vampires before the Twilight and True Blood craze ever happened. If you have never seen the show and like a little supernatural in your life then I highly recommend watching it!!! You have to get past the fact that it started in like 1997 or so, but after that - great show!!! I am currently re-watching the entire series since summer tv has so many reruns! I would also recommend not watching the movie (bad cheesy not the true story of what Buffy is!!)
And really - Joss Whedon is just a genius and I love most everything he does :) Seriously who can make such a captivating show where one is done with almost no talking, one with no back ground music and such, and a musical episode... LOVE IT!

My second is Gilmore Girls. I was so sad when it ended and the fact that the creators were basically kicked off the show before the final season started. I am sure I am not the only Gilmore fan who felt like we got ripped off with the final season.... even though... it is just such an amazing show :)

Day Two - My favorite movie

Favorite movie.... just one... that is a tough one! I like a lot of movies and own tons of them :) I watch anything that sounds interesting but not horror/scary movies. I was trying to think of my favorite movie and the only one that kept coming to mind happens to be a Disney movie.

My parents bought this movie for me when it first came out on VHS and then when it was released on DVD I had to buy it for my own collection! I haven't done that with many movies but this was a must for me! I also own the soundtrack from the movie back when it was first released on cd. Not long after I moved to Michigan the broadway tour version of this film came to town and I went to see it. I have to admit I got a little teary eyed at the opening scene because it was exactly what I would have pictured for a stage version. Since then I have seen it once as a local production in town (where i was spit on by one of the actors - well i was front row and he tended to spit when he sang/talked so I got to enjoy that). Earlier this year I went back and saw the tour version when it came back to town. I still love it even though it is technically a kids movie.

My favorite movie is Beauty and the Beast :)

Day One

Welcome day one - my favorite song! So I have been thinking about this and trying to come up with my favorite song. The hard part is I like different songs depending on my mood so it changes. I could easily come up with favorite artists, but song... that one is harder.

Anyway, after much thought I have decided on Unanswered Prayers by Garth Brooks. I have a lot of fond memories associated with Garth Brooks and this would have to be my favorite song by him.

So there you go, my favorite song!

Spring

I am so happy that the weather is getting nicer and I can stop wearing winter coats. I love that my heat hasn't been kicking on at night (yay for lower heating bills!!). Okay so they threatened snow this weekend, but I am holding out hope that they are wrong!
I think my pups are happy the weather is getting nicer. They love having the front door open so they can watch what is going on in the world. Riley also loves to sunbath when the door is open and the sun shines onto the rug at the front door :) I have silly girls.

Speaking of all the good things that Spring brings.... I am looking forward to my vacation! I am headed to Denmark for a week in May and will be staying with my amazing DZ big sister (can't wait to see you Angel)!! While I am in town there will be a DZ Euro Reunion over the weekend and I will be able to meet some awesome sisters for the first time!! A week after I get back from Denmark I am headed to TN for a wedding that I am in. It will be a jam packed May (I only work 8 days!!!!) but it should be soooo much fun!! I think my parents (mainly my mom) is looking forward to having the pups stay with her for most of May. The girls are going to be spoiled rotten by the end of May (of course they are already fairly spoiled).

Breakfast at Tiffanys

Let me start by saying that March has been a crappy month so far!!! (mainly work related). So I have not been in the best of moods lately. Then, last Thursday I was driving home after work, almost there and heard a song on the radio that I have not heard in FOREVER!!! It was Breakfast at Tiffanys and instantly made me smile and remember some good memories (I miss you Cindy). In high school my friends and I changed the wording on the song so that it referenced a local pizza place (my parent's favorite!!!). Anyway... it was nice and unexpected to hear the song and remember those good times.



Here is hoping that the rest of the month gets better!! If not, only 48 days until vacation.

Turn the page

So I have the possibility of big changes coming to my world. I have a meeting on Sunday to find out more, but fingers crossed that this is the start of something good. I am hoping the meeting on Sunday pushes the universe and I am presented with new opportunities!
I am not sure if I am making the smartest decision in my life, but it is what it is at this point. I have decided I need to do whatever it takes to make me happy, or at least get me out of this dark rut I seem to be stuck in.
Wow - could that be more vague?
I will post more once I have some things in place - don't want to put everything out there before it has even started!

I could use any good vibes you can send my way!!


On another note, I have been thinking of things I need to do (well really more people I need to see) in 2010. On the top of my list is to make it back to central IL and see the Martin/Essex/West families!! I miss you my friends!!!
